What Types Of Mixers Are Commonly Used?

Commonly used agitator types are generally: paddle agitator, turbine agitator, anchor frame agitator, widely used in agitation reaction equipment, accounting for about 75~80 of the total number of agitators.

Paddle stirrer: The number of blades is 2, 3, 4 pieces. The blade form can be divided into two types: flat leaf type and folding leaf type. The liquid-liquid system is used to prevent separation and uniform temperature of the tank. Medium is used to prevent solids from settling. It is mainly used for the circulation of fluids. Because of the same displacement, the folding type has less power consumption than the straight leaf type, and the operating cost is low, so the axial flow blades are used more. Also used for high-viscosity fluid agitation, fluid up and down exchange, instead of the ribbon impeller, can get good results.

The turbine agitator produces a generally high velocity liquid stream that exits radially, entraining the surrounding fluid to form a flow. High speed, suitable for liquid mixing with low or medium viscosity. The resulting overall flow loop is rather tortuous, the exit speed is very high, and the vortex motion and large shear force are caused near the outer edge of the blade, which can make the liquid micelles more finely dispersed. Therefore, turbine agitators are more suitable for a small-scale uniform agitation process. However, there are two circuits in the kettle of the turbine agitator, which are not suitable for materials that are easy to stratify.

Anchor frame stirrer The radius of rotation of the stirrer is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the container, the gap is small, and the rotational speed is very low. This agitator index produces a strong shearing action between the outer edge of the blade and the inner wall of the container, and the agitation range is large, so that the stirring of the high viscosity liquid is suitable. This type of agitator can also be used to prevent wall deposition during certain production processes. The anchor type and frame type agitator basically do not generate axial flow, so it is difficult to ensure uniform mixing in the axial direction of the kettle.
